COVID-19 (Corona virus) UPDATE

Smallbrook Care Home & Sherwood House Care Home

It has now been several weeks of lock down but Asprey Healthcare continues to follow the very latest Government and Public Health England guidelines during this pandemic.

We have stopped all visitors and other non-essential visitors to reduce the risk of infection and spread within our Care Homes. We continue to access any medical interventions required or needed either by GPs or District Nurses.

We are helping our residents to maintain contact with their loved ones through a variety of means such as telephone calls, emails, Skype, Facetime and other social media. We believe this is extremely important to give them the comfort and reassurance of life and their family remaining present in their lives.

We realise that you will have heard much in the media about PPE and the shortages there have been, please rest assured that we have sufficient supplies and staff are following the very latest guidelines by wearing the appropriate gloves, aprons, fluid resistant masks and visors.

We are taking full advantage of the facility to test both residents and staff either by attending the testing centres for staff, or by kits provided to the Care Homes for residents and this will continue to be the case.

Asprey Healthcare is following very strict Infection Control procedures within our Care Homes including the Housekeeping teams and we are going above the requirements in this area.

The staff continue to receive training especially around Covid-19 in order to fulfil the very best and safest care to our residents.

We will continue to take all actions necessary to protect our residents and staff for as long as is necessary.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding and we wish you all well.
